FISHING REPORTS

June 6 I went upriver from my house and was able to get a nice catfish, 7 or 8 bluegill and one small bass at the dam. See pic in blog. June 3 Friday morning was perfect to be out, cool and no wind. The fish were small below the park dam but just right for a 2wt. It was amazing to see 6 inch Guadalupe's schooling in the clear current and feeding like trout. They were not easy to catch, but I did manage to trick one on a blue-eyed bug-eyed nymph. There is good fishing for quality fish at hand in the near future. Bill Emsoff

June 1 We have been fishing several times a week but had the best day yet on Monday. Big flies for big fish. We were using #6 poppers and caught 19 monster bream. Some so big I had to hold them against my chest to remove the hook. We also caught 4 bass working the popper aggressively. The mornings are beautiful so don’t be a couch potato. Get out and fish. May 20 We went kayaking and the wind was blowing. Didn't catch any bass but plenty of long ear. May 17 Dianne and I fished Sunday morning and caught 10 small bass and bream on #10 poppers.We fished yesterday in two spots that we have not fished in recent years using #6 poppers. Caught one bream and two nice bass. One bass was 16". The water is great in the Guadalupe so give it a try. Bill Elgin

May 5 I caught 5 bass in the early morning on a green cork popper. Find deeper flowing water. Bluegill are also feeding on top.
